About our Stockton flooring contractor company

Speckled gray epoxy floor fills a garage with unfinished walls and visible floor seams.

How I got into concrete floors

Before this, I ran a small pressure washing business, so I spent years up close with worn-out concrete around Stockton and kept hearing what owners wished they could do with it. I learned coating and concrete prep working beside experienced installers, then started Slabworks in Stockton in 2023. We're best known for garage and epoxy floors, and most of our calls come from homeowners, along with shops, kitchens and small businesses that need a floor that holds up.

Prep comes first for me, because a floor is only as good as the concrete under it. I'd rather spend the time grinding and repairing than rush to the part you see. If your slab isn't ready, or it needs a different fix than the one you called about, I'll tell you straight, even when that means a smaller job for us. We're based in Stockton and work across San Joaquin County and into nearby counties, from Lodi and Manteca to Tracy, Modesto and Elk Grove. You can see everything we do on our home page or ask me to come look at your floor.

What working with us is like

  • We check your slab before we quote

I come out myself and look for moisture, cracks and old coatings before I write anything down. That way the floor you pick suits the concrete you actually have, and you get a written quote instead of a guess.

  • You deal with the owner start to finish

The person who looks at your slab is the same one who checks the work along the way and walks the finished floor with you. When you ask a question, you get a clear answer, not a list of maybes.

  • The rest of your place stays usable

Grinding concrete kicks up dust, so we close off the work area and control dust while we grind. Your home or business can keep running on the other side.

  • Licensed and insured

We're licensed and insured, which matters here because the state contractor board requires a license when a job needs a building permit, uses extra workers or reaches $1,000 or more in labor and materials. Most floor jobs clear that bar easily.

How we handle your floor

  1. Permits checked

Rules differ between the county and each city, so we check with the office that covers your address before we start. If a permit's needed, we handle the application.

  2. Prep first

We grind the surface and fix cracks and damaged spots before any coating goes on, because that's what the new floor has to grip.

  3. Checked install

Our crew lays the floor, and we check each stage as it goes, so anything off gets caught before the next layer covers it.

  4. Clean site

We pack up our equipment and clean the work area, so what's left behind is your new floor and not our mess.

  5. Walk-through

We walk the finished floor with you, explain how to care for it and answer your questions before we call the job done.
